I have over 3 years’ experience working in Higher Education libraries and am currently working towards becoming a Chartered Librarian. I support the Schools of School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Law, and I also specialise in acquisitions and student engagement with the Library team. I'm always happy to help, so please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Before joining Arden in 2022, I worked for more than 10 years as a scientific researcher and academic editor. I provide library support to the Schools of STEM, and specialise in document delivery services, research support and copyright matters. I’m passionate about providing students and staff with quality academic resources.
I have worked in various library services for over a decade. I am a qualified librarian, and my specialisms are accessibility and research support. I support the School of International Partnerships. I am happy to support you with any library-related queries you may have.
A common notion is that mathematics, numeracy, and statistics are difficult. From personal experience of supporting students in these areas, I have found that the fear of number is largely responsible for this belief. There might be many reasons that contribute to this fear but developing a growth mindset is an effective strategy for “growing out of” it. Once you can overcome the fear of numbers, the challenges inherent to mathematics can be engaging and even quite enjoyable.
Breaking the mould: rising from ACEs to academia
I’m 17 years old walking around Tesco and I see one of my teachers from secondary school. He walks over to me to tell me that he knew I would never amount to anything more than a benefit scrounging, council estate statistic. I am pregnant.
