We want every student to feel confident using library resources and to have full access to everything available through the Library Portal.
If you have any of the following conditions we can provide additional support
- Blind and partially sighted
- Learning difference e.g. ADHD, dyslexia
- Physical disability
Our Accessibility Support Librarians, Claire and Jess, offer personalised advice on how to use the built-in tools and adapt library resources to suit your individual style of learning.
Accessibility Workshop
This workshop will introduce you to tools that can help you to access Library resources effectively.
- How to use accessibility features e.g. read aloud, display options etc.
- Convert documents using SensusAccess
- Learn about RNIB Bookshare.
Databases and eBooks
Many of our databases and eBook platforms have built-in accessibility features, such as options to change the text size, background colour and audio (read aloud) functions.

Convert your documents with SensusAccess
SensusAccess is a self-service tool that allows you to convert documents into a variety of alternative formats to suit your style of learning.
RNIB Bookshare
RNIB Bookshare enables blind and partially sighted learners, as well as anyone with a print-related disability, access to over one million textbooks in accessible formats.
