Unbelievably the Arden Library Portal has reached its first milestone birthday, as we reach the first-year anniversary since the Portal went live in 2021.
The Library Portal is a one stop Digital Library providing access to all the key texts, journals, study skills information and subject specific resources you need to support your learning journey at Arden.
My roots lie in the Southern coast sands of South Africa, in a village that sees whales return each year to birth their young and to breach into the fresh breeze that whips eastwards across the bay. Customers phone ahead before visiting the local seaside restaurant, to find out what time the dolphins are expected to swim past, as though the staff have a direct line to Poseidon himself.

I have worked in libraries for over 20 years, first in public libraries and then 10 years working in an NHS library. I support the Schools of Health and Care Management, Law and Apprenticeships. I recently spent an evening with two friends and their Small Boy. We live at opposite ends of the country, so time spent in each other’s actual physical company is a rare treat. Small Boy has just turned two, and is more of a Medium Sized Boy these days. When I was a child, I used to hate it when adults told me how much I’d grown, but as an ageing millennial, it’s a phrase I find myself using more and more.
