2024 has been a busy year in the Learning Success Hub! At the start of the year, we were still known as the Library Services Team, but by August we rebranded as your new Learning Success Hub, ready to welcome new and returning students with simplified access to our resources, services and support.

One platform with your tools for academic success

The Learning Success Hub is the new home for the Arden Library Portal, academic skills and academic English support, making it easier for you to find and access the resources, tools and assistance you need to succeed throughout your academic studies. Our experienced team of Librarians, Academic Skills Tutors and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Lecturers offer tailored support to meet your individual needs and are available to help you with everything from planning essays to dissertation-level research.

More support on campus

In response to student feedback, we’ve made changes on our campuses, with many of our courses and workshops now being provided by our Academic Skills and English Language Hub teams both in person and online. You can now also meet with an Academic Skills Tutor or EAP Lecturer on campus for individual support: part of our commitment to providing greater access to the assistance you need to succeed in ways that work for you.

An expanding Library collection

This year we also switched major eBook providers, moving much of our collection from BibliU to Kortext. This change has allowed us to provide access to thousands more titles, including Kogan Page’s entire catalogue, the Wiley Enterprise collection, and a huge range of additional texts through Kortext’s Open Resources collection.

Throughout 2024 we’ve developed our digital Library collection, creating dedicated spotlight eBook collections on different topics and asking for your suggestions to help grow them! Our Request an eBook scheme has continued to make a real difference in granting students access to the titles you need for your study and research and this year we’ve fulfilled over 160 requests!

Tell us what you’d like to see next!

We’re always looking to improve our service and your feedback has played a crucial role in shaping these changes. If you have any feedback on things you find particularly helpful or changes you’d like us to make, please fill out our feedback form: Learning Success Hub feedback form. If you do, in addition to helping us improve the Learning Success Hub, you’ll be in with a chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher!
