The Library Team, Academic Skills Tutors and English Language Hub team will be taking a break for the festive period from Friday 22nd December 2023 until Wednesday 3rd January 2023.

You will still be able to access everything on the Library Portal and within our collections throughout this period - however the Library, Academic Skills and English Language Hub teams will not be available to answer any questions you may have during this time.

If your enquiry is urgent and cannot wait until we reopen, please contact Student Support on StudentSupport@arden.ac.uk - the teams that are on hand will be prioritising any safeguarding and welfare concerns throughout the break. The freshly launched Student Hub is also fully equipped with everything you might need over the festive break, including quick access links to your main online platforms, including iLearn.  You can also visit the Inclusion Portal for further access to useful resources, self-help and signposting information

If you need assistance with using the Library over the festive period, there is a range of guidance available on the Support page of the Library Portal, or you may find what you need in the FAQs below:

1. I need help accessing resources on the Library Portal.

All resources available through the Library Portal are accessed using your Arden Office 365 login details. This will be your Arden University email address (your student number followed by @ardenuniversity.ac.uk) and password.

If you are unsure of how to access your Arden Office 365 account, you can recover your password by clicking on this link - there is also some guidance on resetting your password here

2. How do I access eBooks and other resources for my module reading?

All of our Subject Guides have links down the right-hand side, which will take you to a specific list of the key texts for your course.

Your key texts will also be listed in your module resources on iLearn, at the bottom of your lesson list for each module.

All of our eBooks and other resources can be found by searching the Library Portal using the search box on the homepage.

Your Subject Guide will also provide you with the most up to date version of the referencing guide for your subject area, as well as any relevant research tools; subject-specific database links; and other useful resources as identified by your Assistant Librarians and your School.

3. Where can I access academic skills support?

Academic Skills workshops and one to one appointments are available right up until the 22nd of December and they will restart again after the festive closure period on the 3rd January. You can book workshops or appointments ready for when we return after 3rd January.

To do this, visit the Academic Skills Workshop page and the Academic Skills Tutor Appointments page on the Library Portal where you can book onto a workshop or a one-to-one appointment from the 3rd January, when we return following the festive closure period.
