We are pleased to announce the addition of Statista to Arden Library!

Statista is one of the world's leading portals offering access to statistics and studies on 80,000 topics and 170 industries, allowing you to access relevant market and consumer data quickly and conveniently.

Statista's data comes from two areas:

  • relevant market data from third parties that is processed and made available in the form of statistics and studies (e.g., government institutions, international organizations, market research institutes, trade journals etc).
  • surveys, analyses and forecasts carried out independently by Statista, and shared via expert, built-in tools such as the Digital Market Insights, Consumer Market Insights, and Country Insights.

Statista is a fantastic resource to support your research, assignments and projects, as well as help you gain more insight into the background of different topics you may be studying!

The platform has a range of useful tools and features to help you make the most of the data that’s on offer, including:

  • Intuitive keyword search: including auto-completion, as well as synonyms and alternative search term suggestions. Various functions also help to refine the search e.g., limiting the search to certain content areas; filtering search results by region, year; and country, and sorting by relevance, popularity, and publication date.
  • Download formats: statistics and studies can be downloaded and stored in various formats, including XLS, PPT, PNG, and PDF files, making it easier to process and integrate them into your own analyses and presentations:

  • Citation options: When viewing statistics and studies, there are citation format options provided beneath the download panel, where you can find a guidance example of how to cite the resource – but please remember to check this against your Arden University Referencing Guide to make sure it is correctly aligned! You can find your Referencing Guide on the Library Portal here.
  • Multiple languages available: data is currently available in English, German, Spanish, and French throughout the platform.
  • Popular topics: Statista’s homepage provides suggested keyword searches based on the most popular topics looked for by other users – a great starting point for your research!
  • News and Reports: provided on the homepage, this carousel offers you overviews of particular topics and areas, expertly researched and presented in a condensed form.
  • Market Insights: access comparable market, industry, and country information for over 150 countries, territories, and regions with Statista’s Market Insights section, including revenue metrics, key performance indicators, and much more.
  • Consumer Insights: helps marketers, planners and product managers to understand consumer behaviour and their interaction with brands; consumption; and media usage on a global basis.
  • Daily Infographics: Pre-done visualisations on popular topics, available for you to download and cite in your presentations, assignments and other university work!

We’re thrilled to add Statista to our Library collections – you can start accessing this amazing resource now here, and you’ll also find it linked in our A-Z Databases list and on your Subject Guide. For a useful “getting started” guide, you can also see Statista’s short videos here and walkthroughs here.

We'd love to hear what you think, so please share your views via this short survey - you will be entered into a draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher, so make sure you share your feedback today!
