October is ADHD Awareness Month, the theme this year is “Awareness is key”.

The NHS defines ADHD as “a condition that affects people's behaviour. People with ADHD can seem restless, may have trouble concentrating and may act on impulse.”

If you have ADHD symptoms, you may find the following resources in our collection useful:

ADHD an A-Z: Figuring it Out Step by Step

Dirty Laundry: Why Adults with ADHD Are So Ashamed and What We Can Do to Help

The Dyslexia, ADHD, and DCD-Friendly Study Skills Guide: Tips and Strategies for Exam Success

The Energetic Brain: Understanding and Managing ADHD

How to ADHD: An Insider’s Guide to Working with Your Brain (Not Against It)

You can also read a blog post written by one of our librarians with their hints and tips for studying with ADHD.

The ADHD UK and ADHD Awareness Month websites also have many useful resources on all aspects of ADHD. Our Wellbeing service also have a list of ADHD resources and can also offer support.

If you think you may have ADHD and wish to get further support, please go to the NHS ADHD pages for advice.
