We are pleased to share an exciting update on the eBook collection within our Library Portal. In the coming weeks, we will be expanding our eBook collection and introducing a new eBook platform.

What is the new eBook platform?

We will be introducing a new eBook platform called Kortext, where you can:

  • Access thousands of eBooks including many of your key and essential reading titles.

  • Read your eBooks on the go with the Kortext App.

  • Personalise your reading with a range of accessibility features. You can customise font size, style, background colour and much more.
  • Access all of the tools you need for learning – you’ll be able to search, highlight text and make notes, copy and paste text, and print.

What does this mean for me?

  • You will now have a new home for many of your key reading materials as eBooks are moved off BibliU to the new eBook platform. The BibliU website and app will no longer be available from Thursday 20th June 2024.

  • Your key reading materials will continue to be free for you to access through the Library Portal and many of these texts will transition to the new Kortext platform.

What do I need to do to prepare?

As there's not long to go before we transition, there are a few things you can do to hit the ground running with our new eBook platform. The following will need to be completed by Thursday 20th June 2024

  • Make a note of any books that you are currently reading, including the chapter or page number. This will allow you to easily pick up where you left off with any books on your bookshelf when we move to the new platform. A short video showing you how to do this can be found here: Creating a list of current eBooks from BibliU

  • Make a copy of any critical notes from BibliU and save them somewhere that you can easily access and refer back to – this could be done by copying and pasting or taking a screenshot to capture your notes. A short video showing you how to do this can be found here: Copying notes from eBooks on BibliU

  • Export any citations from books you are using to keep your reference list correct and up to date. A short video showing you how to do this can be found here: Downloading references from BibliU

  • Download or export any eBook references you have saved to your bookmarked and project areas in the Library Portal – eBooks previously saved in your bookmarked and project areas on the Library Portal may be affected by the move to the new platform, this will ensure you keep a record of your saved items. A short video showing you how to do this can be found here: Downloading or exporting Library Portal records
