Ramadan Reflection

As we are approaching the blessed month of Ramadan, it is only fitting for many of us observing this holy month to read and truly reflect on the words and miracles found in the Qur'an.

It is indeed challenging to read the Qur'an in a language that is so pure and authentic, let alone to understand it. But this is the true beauty behind understanding the message of God to mankind. The more you read, the more you become aware of your purpose in life and what you seek. It's like a love letter directly from God to all.

Ramadan Study Tips

  • Keep hydrated and consume nutritional food and drink.

  • Do not skip Suhoor (pre fast meal). As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Take the pre-fasting meal, for surely there are blessings in the pre-fasting meal" (Bukhari).

  • Maximize Early Morning Study: dedicate the quiet and productive early morning hours to tasks requiring high concentration.  Save lighter study activities for later in the day.

  • Time management: schedule your days for study with some room for flexibility.

  • Take regular breaks: step out for fresh air, stretch.

  • Participate in physical activities – go for short walks, yoga, gym.

  • Ask for help by contacting your lecturer, booking an appointment with your Academic Skills Tutor.

  • Study buddy – pair up with a student in your class.

  • Embrace Ramadan's Blessings: Ramadan is a chance for personal growth, reflection and gratitude. Use this opportunity to connect with your faith to achieve success in this life and the hereafter. Let your studies be a core part of that journey. Remember that the first revealed word in Quran was "Iqra – Read"
