Top Tip

Start with a few clear keywords, then use the filters on the left (such as date, subject area, and document type) to quickly refine your results. For a broad introduction to a topic, limit your results to "Review articles".

Accessibility Features

Read Aloud 

No inbuilt function but website is compatible with a wide popular screen readers including JAWS, VoiceOver and NVDA.  

Pages are given unique and descriptive page titles to help orient users of screen readers. 

Change text size 

No inbuilt function. Text can be enlarged up to 200% on most pages without loss of functionality (some exceptions apply).

Use browser Zoom function to enlarge text. Guidance on making text size larger can be found on Abilitynet. 

Change background colour 

No inbuilt function. Use browser settings to change colours, contrast levels and fonts (see Abilitynet for guidance).

ColorVeil (available through AppsAnywhere) is effective for eye strain reduction, Dyslexia, Visual Stress or Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome).

Minimum colour contrast requirements are met in most areas (some exceptions apply, see Accessibility Statement for details). 

Keyboard navigation 

Keyboard only navigation is possible on most areas of the site. Exceptions are the document search results accordions and the awarded grants section of the author details.  

Keyboard-only users can move to a main section in a journal article or book by using the left-side table of contents. There should be no keyboard traps within Scopus.
