British & Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILLI) contains British and Irish case law and legislation, European Union case law, Law Commission reports, and other law-related British and Irish materials. BAILII is a free resource but note it may not be as up to date as databased such as Westlaw UK. Check the status of any Act to see if it is provided in its original version, or if it has been revised.

Change text size

No inbuilt function. Use browser Zoom function to enlarge text (up to 300%). Most browsers will allow you to change the font size. Guidance on making text size larger can be found on Abilitynet

Change background colour

No inbuilt function. Use browser settings to change colours, contrast levels and fonts (see Abilitynet for guidance). 

ColorVeil (available through AppsAnywhere) is effective for eye strain reduction, Dyslexia, Visual Stress or Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome).

Keyboard navigation 

Most of the website should be navigable using just a keyboard.

Articles can be downloaded as PDFs to read offline. If using a screen reader, we recommend viewing PDF content on Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat as PDF content will often be more readable and more easily navigated by screen readers in Adobe Reader.
