Kortext has a range of features to improve your reading and learning experience.
On the Kortext App, you can convert text to speech using the read aloud function, this is available for both EPUB and PDF content.
You can change the narrator, use a sliding scale to speed up or slow down the pace of the narration, and easily skip forward or skip back through the text.
The Kortext App is also compatible with screen reading software including JAWS, TalkBack and VoiceOver (inbuilt Apple screen reader).
To hear a short section of text on any device, highlight the text you want read aloud and then select the read aloud option in the menu that appears.
The read aloud option can be beneficial to a wide range of people including but not limited to, visually impaired people, people with dyslexia and other learning differences, people who take in information better through auditory learning, and people who are time-deficient, multi-tasking or commuting.
When reading most eBooks in the Kortext browser view or via the app, you can change the font style, text size, line spacing and margin width. There is also the option to select the scroll or single pages mode.
Please note, a small number of eBooks are in a PDF format which does not include this functionality, but PDFs will still allow you to enlarge text using the magnification tool.
