The EBSCO eBook Collection offers a large and diverse range of academic ebooks covering all subject areas, making it a valuable resource for Arden University students across every discipline. The platform allows you to search within books for specific keywords, download chapters for offline reading, and export references instantly using the built‑in citation tools.
With options to read in PDF or EPUB formats, a clear and detailed table of contents, and an intuitive interface, the EBSCO eBook Collection provides a smooth and user‑friendly reading experience, ideal for both quick consultation and in‑depth study.
Book formats
EBSCO's online reader provides books in two formats, PDF and EPUB. Many books are available in both formats, while others are available only in one format.
Read aloud
EBSCO eBooks have an integrated text-to-speech tool when accessing titles online. The tool enables you to play, pause and jump forward or back in the audio stream and select how fast the text is read. Text will also be highlighted on the screen as it is read aloud.
EBSCO eBooks can also be used with a range of text-to-speech/read aloud tools including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
Change text size
No inbuilt function. Use browser Zoom function to enlarge text (up to 200% for PDFs and 250% for EPUBs). The online book viewer is also compatible with screen magnifiers including ZoomText and MAGic.

Change font
There is no option to change the font. Downloading books in EPUB format allows for changing text with third party tools.
Change background colour
This is not an inbuilt option, but the online viewer is set up to work effectively with browser extensions that change the colour and contrast and downloaded chapters should work with readers with this functionality. Recommendations for the most common browsers are below:

ColorVeil (available through AppsAnywhere) is effective for eye strain reduction, Dyslexia, Visual Stress or Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome).
All EBSCO platforms meet minimum colour contrast requirements.
Keyboard navigation
EBSCO eBook Collection is navigable with your keyboard – the tab, enter, and arrow keys. There is a Skip to Main Content link at the top of the eBook page, which allows keyboard users to skip redundant navigation links. To access this, use the tab key from the top of the page at which point the Skip to Main Content link will come into view. The eBook content Use the down arrows to scroll through the eBook content.
Read offline
Chapters can be downloaded to read offline as PDFs. If you choose to download a full book, you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions. Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) can be used with Voiceover, NVDA, and JAWS, and it offers other accessibility features such as high contrast mode and full keyboard support.
